Baptism

Baptism is the first step of obedience you take as a Christian. It is an outward symbol that you are identifying yourself with Jesus and is a public declaration that you are His follower.

Baptism occurs through immersion in water and profession of faith (Acts 2:38)

Baby Dedications

What you need to know & what you need to do...

An opportunity for new parents to focus today on what will affect their child’s future the most. No one will have more influence on your child than YOU! It is our hope that we can partner with you from the very beginning. We want to be your biggest fans, your strongest supporters, and your trusted guides as you raise your child to know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Baby Dedication is more than an event. It is an opportunity for you to take some time at the beginning of your journey as a parent to really think about what will matter the most in the life of your child; to really talk together and decide what you value and what you can do today that will have the greatest impact on your child’s future.

Many people at Centerpoint were christened into the Catholic, Methodist, Episcopalian or Lutheran Church. We thank God their parents cared about their spiritual formation and we want to build on that. We do not want to be disingenuous and say that baby dedication is the same thing as christening nor do we want to build a wall between your denominational heritage and Centerpoint, we want to build on it.  We've noticed that it helps when you tell grandma and grandpa that you are dedicating your child at Centerpoint, you aren't walking away from your religious upbringing, you're living in it, and they should be proud of that.
